Some stakeholders believe adult-use could happen next year, while others are skeptical.
At the recent Pennsylvania Cannabis Convention in Pittsburgh, stakeholders in the existing medical market all fear that the state may legalize adult-use cannabis but pivot to a state store program. They claim this will crush the 25,000 jobs created with the medical program. The state currently hosts numerous MSOs as well as up-and-coming home-grown businesses. The lawmakers are considering other options and the stakeholders are hoping they can sway their representatives away from state stores.
