Monko is a lifestyle cannabis dispensary in Washington D.C. Owner and Chief Executive Officer Terrence White told Green Market Report about his transition from an I-71 store to a licensed medical operator, which is expected to be effective within the next 30 days.
White was once incarcerated but now he is giving back to his community. Monko uses the monkey image to teach consumers about the history of code words for cannabis amongst Black people. He also has a line of Monko apparel to incorporate the Monko lifestyle. His store hosts events like Yoga classes and he is active in the legislation process.
